Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents after the town where she was raised as a child. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder is a self-described Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino, California, when Ryder was seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder who read a lot aged 12, became a bookworm due to the fact that Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. Lucas, a 1986 film which was her first big character. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour was going to be corrected. However, that didn't happen. However, she pushed on with her dream. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder continued to play successful characters in numerous films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
