Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta but she is out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing piano in church. Her music career started in Atlanta at Spellman College. The first song to feature her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12 track. Since then, it was remixed and has become a component of her set. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005, she was employed as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls, the theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
